Executive and Professional Admissions

Executive and Professional Admissions (EPAD) is the application process for students who want to earn a graduate degree. If you’re interested in pursuing a degree at Brown University but do not fit into one of our other categories, this is the program for you! We offer a variety of business-related programs, including:

  • MBA
  • Master of Science in Management (MSM)
  • Master of Arts in International Studies (MAIS)
  • Certificate Programs

Requirements & Deadlines

Applicants must meet the following requirements:

  • A bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.
  • An overall GPA of 3.0 (on a 4.0 scale). If you have already completed some coursework at Brown, your GPA will be calculated based on those courses only and does not include transfer work from another institution.
  • Submission of all official transcripts for all post-secondary institutions attended, including summer programs and study abroad placements--even if they are not included as part of your undergraduate degree program(s) or major(s).
  • Applicants with earned master's degrees should also submit their official transcripts showing all coursework completed at each institution attended since graduating from high school through the date of application submission; these may be requested during our review process if needed for evaluation purposes.

Funding opportunities

Brown University offers a variety of funding opportunities to help you pay for your education.

  • Scholarship Consideration: You may be eligible for scholarships with high academic performance, leadership experience or other extracurricular activities.
  • Apply for External Funding: Many external scholarships are available through organizations such as the Rhodes Trust, Fulbright Scholarships and more!
  • Enrol in the Installment Payment Plan (IPP): If your family’s income falls within certain limits set by Brown University’s Financial Aid Office or if your financial circumstances require it, then an IPP may be an option for paying off tuition bills over time instead of all at once when classes start each semester.

International Travel Fund: International Travel Fund awards range from $600 to $1,000 and are fixed on the distance of travel from Providence, RI.

  • Less than 3,000 miles – $600
  • 3,000-5,000 miles – $700
  • 5,000-6,000 miles – $800
  • 6,000-7,000 miles – $900
  • 7,000+ miles – $1,000
  • All applications and associated documentation must be submitted online through UFunds.

Admitted Students

If you plan on enrolling at Brown, we strongly encourage you to accept your offer of admission by paying your enrollment deposit as soon as possible. This deposit will be applied toward tuition and fees for the academic year (including the fall semester). Suppose payment is received after seven days of receiving an acceptance letter. In that case, we will assume that you do not wish to attend Brown University, and all offers of admission will be revoked without further notice from our office.

The Virtual Learning Portal (VLP) provides access to digital tools, including the Blackboard course management system; library databases; electronic mailboxes for faculty interaction; discussion boards; virtual classrooms where students can meet instructors face-to-face via webcam technology called “Skype”; video lectures from professors who visit campus regularly but live outside Rhode Island; research guides with tips on finding articles in journals or books related specifically.
