Brown University Complete Information
Tuition and fees are the same for all students. This means that no matter what you major in, you will not pay more than any other student at Brown University. Tuition is based on the number of credits you take (full-time students take 12 or more credits per semester). Fees include health insurance, student activity fee, and technology fee (which pays for your computer).
The estimated cost of attendance (COA) is the total amount of money you will need to pay for tuition and fees, housing and food plan, books, supplies and transportation costs.
The COA includes:
The cost of the housing and food plan depends on your family size. The more people in your family, the higher the price per person will be. For example, if you are living off campus but have one roommate who is also paying for a room in their own apartment, then both of your costs would be less than if one person lived alone or had multiple roommates (more people).
A second factor that affects how much money students pay for their housing expenses is whether they choose to live on campus or off campus. On-campus housing can range from very small dorm rooms with shared bathrooms to large apartments with private kitchens and bathrooms. However, all of these options still come at an additional cost compared to living off campus where students can find cheaper rent prices and fewer restrictions on what kind of accommodations they choose for themselves
