About Special Programs at brown university

Brown University’s Special Programs are designed to provide students with a unique educational experience. The programs are open to all students, regardless of major or class year, who are interested in the program and can meet the requirements.

The Brown Program in Biomedical Engineering is an opportunity for undergraduates majoring in other disciplines (engineering or science) at Brown University to learn about biomedical engineering from some of its leaders.

Students participate in lectures by faculty members on topics related to bioengineering research, such as cell biology or tissue engineering; participate in seminars on career development; attend workshops that teach computer programming skills required for modern biomedical research; work with mentors on capstone projects; and attend weekly dinners hosted by members of our community who share their experiences as scientists working at industry leaders such as Johnson & Johnson Innovation Center and GE Global Research Center.
