Harvard University Complete Information
Transfer applicants are students who have taken college courses at another institution and are now applying to Harvard. Transfer students must apply directly to Harvard College, but they can start their application process before their final year of high school or community college. Many transfer applicants will take advantage of early action options when submitting their applications to receive a decision before the rest of the applicant pool has been reviewed.
Transfer applicants must have at least 24 credits from an accredited institution for their application materials (including transcripts) and letters of recommendation to be considered valid by our Admissions Office; however, we recommend having more than 30 credits by May 1 if possible because this will allow us more time for review during our holistic review process if needed later on down the road due to any changes made after submitting initial applications back in December/January timeframe!
The Transfer Program is a great way to save time and money. If you are considering transferring from a community college to Harvard, there are some things you should know about the program.
Harvard University's transfer program allows students who have completed at least two years of full-time coursework at an accredited community college or University outside of Massachusetts (or completed one year of full-time coursework in Massachusetts) to apply for admission as juniors. Students who have earned an associate degree from a regionally accredited institution may be eligible for early acceptance into Harvard College; please consult the appropriate admissions office if interested.
You can take courses online or in person at your local community college before applying to Harvard University as part of its Transfer Program, which enables qualified applicants with previous college coursework toward completion of their bachelor's degree who demonstrate excellence in academics and leadership potential through extracurricular activities such as athletics or student government - regardless whether they were already accepted into another four-year university first before applying here - so long as they meet specific GPA requirements set forth by both institutions involved!
The application deadline is February 1. You should submit your application by this date, but you can also apply after this date and still be considered for admission.
The application fee is $70, but it’s waived if you apply by October 15 or are eligible for financial aid or one of Harvard’s summer programs.
Transfer applicants who have completed coursework at other colleges and universities may be eligible for transfer credit. Coursework will be evaluated by the Office of Undergraduate Admissions, which determines whether or not to award transfer credit based on how similar your courses were to those offered at Harvard.
If you are applying with Advanced Placement (AP), International Baccalaureate (IB), or A-Levels (UK) examinations, please note that these scores do not automatically apply toward any specific degree program at Harvard College; instead, they may help you gain entry into a particular concentration within a given major or degree program if appropriate for your interests and talents.
