To qualify for a scholarship, you must enroll or plan to enroll in a degree program at Liberty University. You must also meet certain academic requirements and demonstrate financial need for certain scholarships. Students transferring from other colleges or universities may be eligible for additional financial aid if they have completed 30 or more credit hours at the time of transfer without earning an associate’s or bachelor’s degree.
Liberty University Academic Scholarships
Liberty University Academic Scholarships are awarded based on the student’s GPA and SAT/ACT scores. To be considered for Liberty University Academic Scholarships, students must meet the following criteria:
- Be admitted to a degree-seeking program at Liberty University.
- Have at least a 3.5 cumulative high school GPA (on a 4.0 scale) or have earned an SAT score of 1120 on the math section, an 1170 composite score on the new SAT or an ACT composite score of 25
Liberty University Endowed Scholarships
An endowed scholarship is a gift from donors that allows the university to offer scholarships permanently. Endowed funds are invested, and their earnings are used to provide financial assistance for students.
An endowed scholarship can be created by naming a specific amount, such as $1 million or $100,000, or by calling an organization (such as your church) or company that will contribute each year. Donors can also choose how long their gift is available in perpetuity.
Liberty University Presidential Scholarship
The Presidential Scholarship is open to students entering their first year at Liberty University. The scholarship covers tuition, room and board, books, and fees up to $20,000 per year for up to four years. To receive this award, you must be certified as a Presidential Scholar by the President of Liberty University and maintain at least a 3.5 GPA each semester (4-point scale). You must also be a U.S. citizen; international students are not eligible for merit-based scholarships from Liberty University or any other private institution in Virginia or North Carolina.

Liberty University offers several scholarships for international students. These awards are open to all students, regardless of their citizenship or country of residence. Some examples include:

Liberty University Scholarships Eligibility
- Students must be enrolled full-time at Liberty University.

How to Apply for Liberty University Scholarship
There are many scholarships available at Liberty University. The application process is quick and straightforward, so you should be able to apply quickly.
- To apply for an academic scholarship, follow these steps: Go to the Office of Financial Aid’s website (https://www.liberty.edu/financialaid). There are two options on this page: “Apply Now” or “Scholarships & Grants.” If you want to apply for one of our academic scholarships:
- Click “Scholarships & Grants” and choose a category from the drop-down menu (e.g., Undergraduate).
- Scroll down until you see an option called “Academic Scholarships.”
- If applicable, click on that link and complete all necessary information about yourself, including your GPA and test scores.
Each scholarship applicant must have at least a 3.5 GPA at the end of each semester in which they seek scholarship funding. Scholarship recipients must remain enrolled full-time throughout the scholarship period..
