The University of Florida Scholarships List is an excellent resource for students to find scholarships for which they are eligible. The list includes many scholarships for international students who want to study at the University of Florida.

University of Florida Scholarships List

The University of Florida’s scholarship program is funded by the state legislature and offers students a variety of financial aid options.

  • The Florida Academic Scholars (FAS) Program provides a tuition waiver, meaning you won’t have to pay any tuition or fees while enrolled in an undergraduate degree program at U.F.
  • The Florida Opportunity Scholarship (FOS) provides up to $3,000 per year for four years if you’re an incoming freshman who graduated from a public high school in Florida with at least a 3.5 GPA on your weighted 4-point scale and met the academic standards set forth by FOS requirements (see below).
  • You must also meet one of two selection criteria:

1) You were ranked in the top 5% of your graduating class; 2) Your SAT/ACT score was among the top 10% among all test takers at your high school.

University of Florida Scholarships for International Students

Scholarships for international students at the University of Florida are available in a variety of categories, including:

  • Merit-based scholarships. These awards are based on academic performance and may be renewable if you maintain your GPA requirements.
  • Student employment opportunities. You can earn money through part-time jobs on campus or with one of UF’s many research programs.
  • Athletic scholarships, such as those offered by Gator Boosters Club and other athletic organizations within U.F. Athletics Department, support student-athletes with financial assistance (athletic).

University of Florida Scholarships Eligibility

To be eligible for University of Florida scholarships, you must:

  • Be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident.
  • Be enrolled full-time at the University of Florida (U.F.) and in a degree program at U.F.
  • Have a minimum GPA of 3.0
  • Have a minimum SAT score of 1000 or an ACT score of 21.

How to Apply for the University of Florida Scholarship

The application deadline for these scholarships is every Year May 1. You can finish an online application or print off an application form and mail it in by post.

The application requirements are as follows:

  • Official academic transcript showing a minimum GPA of 3.0 (on a 4.0 scale) and current enrollment in an undergraduate program at U.F. or U.K. (must be full-time).
  • One essay response addressing one of the following prompts: “How do you hope to contribute positively to society?” or “Describe your ideal environment for learning.”
  • Scholarship Amount: $2,500 per Year ($5,000 total over three years).
