Undergraduate Application Financial Aid Deadlines
Regular Decision
The deadline for regular decision applicants is January 1. The deadline for early decision applicants is November 1. You can apply for financial aid at any time, though we recommend that you do so by March 15 if you want to be considered for need-based aid and scholarships.

Current Students
Current students must apply by March 1. Current students who wish to be considered for financial aid should complete a new application and submit updated financial information.
Current undergraduate students may also be eligible for additional need-based scholarships in their final year at Northwestern University. These awards are available through the Office of Undergraduate Admission and Financial Aid, which will notify applicants if they are selected for this honour.

Early Decision
Early Decision is binding. If you are admitted to a school through Early Decision, you must attend that school if accepted.
You must apply by November 1 and submit all required documents by November 15. This includes your financial aid documents, which should be submitted by December 1 (or earlier).
Northwestern's Decision will be sent out in January 2020 for those admitted through the regular decision process.

International Students
International students should apply to the university in the same way as domestic students. However, international applicants are not eligible for federal financial aid and must submit a separate application by the deadline. Students should contact the International Student Office if they have any questions about this process or wish to be considered for institutional scholarships offered by Northwestern University.

Transfer Students
Transfer students must apply for financial aid by the deadline, even if they were not awarded any aid during their first year of college. Students enrolled at another college or university should submit their completed application by the deadline.
